
Last week, February 26th - March 2nd the Lake Geneva Elementary Schools celebrated Read Across America Week - Dr. Seuss Week! Each day students and staff were encouraged to participate special activities and dress-up days.
Here are a few of the fun themes and activities:
- “I Can Read with My Eyes Shut”- students wore shirts with words on them.
- Celebrate The Cat in the Hat – a special visit from the Cat himself
- “If I Ran the Zoo”- students wore animal prints or animal related clothing
- Special Green Eggs and Ham Snacks
- Character Book Day- students dressed in their favorite character from a book
- Celebrate reading everywhere, even in the dark! – Flashlight reading
- “Oh the Places You’ll Go”- students wore college or vacation apparel
- “Sleep Book”- students wore their favorite pair of pajamas and cozy up with a few good books
- School-wide read-a-thons
- Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebrations
