Virtual Learning

Lake Geneva Schools will resume its virtual learning program for students on Monday, March 30 through at least Friday, April 24, 2020. During the extended period of social distancing, virtual learning will ensure that students can continue in their educational growth while they maintain a connection with their teachers and peers. Please make sure your students engage in their virtual studies.

We will continue to follow the 2019-2020 Academic Calendar.  There will be no Virtual Learning on April 10 and April 13.

Virtual Learning Details: Principals, teachers, and staff at each school have been preparing virtual learning plans for our students. The goal of virtual learning is to ensure student education is continuous and ongoing outside of the classroom. Our virtual learning plans allow these unprecedented days to be considered “regular” school days. It is important for your students to actively participate in virtual learning. Please note that students are not expected to be online all day. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has advised us of the following expectations

Grades 6 - 12:  about 3 hours of total virtual learning per day Grades 3 - 5:  about 2 hours of total virtual learning per day Grades K - 2:  about 1 hour of total virtual learning per day

Teachers will be available to support students with virtual learning via email (or other communication methods communicated to you and the student by your teacher) during normal school hours/days.

We understand that due to family circumstances students may be completing their work at hours other than typical school hours, please know that is completely acceptable.  If you reach out to a teacher outside of normal school hours, please know that you may not receive a response until the next set of normal school hours.

Please understand that teachers will be receiving a large number of outside communications.  They will respond to your message as quickly as possible.  Please be patient.  If you experience persistent communication issues, please contact your school's office during set school office hours.
