Read Across America Week 2018

Last week, February 26th - March 2nd the Lake Geneva Elementary Schools celebrated Read Across America Week - Dr. Seuss Week! Each day students and staff were encouraged to participate special activities and dress-up days.

Here are a few of the fun themes and activities:

  • “I Can Read with My Eyes Shut”- students wore shirts with words on them. 
  • Celebrate The Cat in the Hat – a special visit from the Cat himself
  • “If I Ran the Zoo”- students wore animal prints or animal related clothing
  • Special Green Eggs and Ham Snacks
  • Character Book Day-  students dressed in their favorite character from a book
  • Celebrate reading everywhere, even in the dark! – Flashlight reading 
  • “Oh the Places You’ll Go”- students wore college or vacation apparel
  • “Sleep Book”- students wore their favorite pair of pajamas and cozy up with a few good books
  • School-wide read-a-thons 
  • Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebrations
