3.26.20 Update

March 26, 2020

Dear Lake Geneva Schools Families:

I sincerely hope all of you have enjoyed your spring break. With that, I know the COVID-19 pandemic has changed many of our plans and our way of life. As we end spring break, I hope all are healthy and stay that way. As you probably know things have changed since we started spring break. A summary of those changes and the impact on our students, families and schools follows. I sincerely hope we can return to school this year, but we will take the following measures to make the best of a difficult time. Once again, stay healthy and I wish all a successful fourth quarter as we complete the 2019-2020 school year.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, Governor Evers directed the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to issue Emergency Order #12, better known as “Safer at Home” prohibiting all non-essential travel with specific exceptions. This order took effect at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25 and will continue until at least Friday, April 24, 2020.

The governor’s order extends the mandated period of school closure through April 24, 2020. Lake Geneva Schools plans to resume its virtual learning program on Monday, March 30, 2020, through April 24, 2020. During the health emergency, Lake Geneva Schools will be able to continue its free breakfast/lunch pick up program for children.

Lake Geneva Schools wants to emphasize to all community members that it is vitally important that everyone adhere to the governor’s mandate for social distancing. Together we will get through this!
