Badger Agriscience Day 10.13.17

October 13, 2017 — The Badger FFA students and agricultural program staff hosted their 13th annual Agriscience Day for 3rd grade students from local schools today.  Over 300 3rd grade students from Central-Denison, Star Center, Randall, Woods, and Traver got a unique, hands-on opportunity to learn more about agriculture and where their food comes from. 

Six hands-on ag learning stations were setup for the 3rd grade students to experience:

  • Station 1:  Soils--learning about the importance of soil with a pudding cup 
  • Station 2:  Aquaponics/Natural Resources --Sustainably with lettuce and fish
  • Station 3:  Animals--Veterinary science skills and animal care
  • Station 4:  Plant Science--Cloning plants and science
  • Station 5:  Food Science--Science of how a taco is made
  • Station 6:  Commodities: Making lip balm and the importance of bees
